Frustrated
You would think a 300 lb guy would be able to easily drop weight, but apparently not. After having a simple time going from 312 lbs or whatever I was post-holidays, to 298 a week ago, I’m hovering at about 300-302 lbs. I’ve hit the treadmill the last 2 days, which is the first exercise I have done in a while. I increased my water intake considerably. So now it appears I need to really dial back the unnecessary little snacky shit I eat periodically, and I need to see what happens from there.
Another option I’m considering for the weekend is a refeed. Basically, when you eat a restricted diet, especially when carbs are restricted, you not only get depleted, but your metabolism can begin to slow down over time. I’m beginning to wonder if my metabolism is shutting down a bit with the lack of calories. I don’t totally understand the mechanism and how it works, but doing a refeed for a day, or sometimes two, kicks your metabolism up considerably, and it helps to “fill you out,” meaning make your muscles look more full and healthy instead of drained and depleted. A typical refeed means little fat is consumed during it, but you focus on sugary carb sources like fruits, waffles, pancakes, syrup, cereals, etc etc etc. I plan to read and learn more about refeeds and how they work, and I plan to write an article about it in the future.
If I do not see some progress before the weekend, I may see if a refeed helps me out.

Eat for weightloss. Exercise for fitness is what I’ve heard.

Well, really in order to lose weight you need to restrict your calorie intake.. you should probably aim for 1700-2000 calories a day. And just exercise 4-5 times a week and you’ll continue to lose weight.
I was 300+ pounds at one time.
