About This Site
Gofatkid.com is something I have spent a few years saying I wanted to do, but I never took action to make it happen. My initial intentions are to make this site keep me accountable for my actions and my progress w/ my personal goals that for years have been big dreams and little results. My hope is that others will follow along and find inspiration, humor, and clarification on their goals as well. In addition, I also created this site to:
- Learn more about web development and the tools that are out there. While I have worked in IT for years, I began this process knowing NOTHING whatsoever about how to create and maintain a site.
- See if maybe by some small bit of fate there may be something else out there for me if I experience a lot of success with this site. What does that mean? I have no idea really. One can always be hopeful…
- Create an additional stream of income for my family. Every little bit helps.
Why “gofatkid”???
- In about 2003 I was working as a waiter and we had a pretty cohesive staff. It was common knowledge that I could pack away the food and one night my good friend Tobin said “wow, go fat kid.” It was one of those lines that just stuck, and we used it a lot that summer. I think it’s a catchy name for a site. If you find it offensive…tough shit, this isn’t your site.
I also want to state here that any products or sites I mention or promote are being done on my own, with no incentive or sponsorship from anyone. If the day actually comes where I would benefit financially by partnering with someone, I will openly say so.
